“Can an MP3 File Cure Your Insomnia?”

Insomnia. I’m not sure there’s anything more frustrating.

The endless staring at the ceiling. That desperate waiting for slumber to finally kick in. The feeling of immense tiredness throughout the next day.

But such sleep problems may be a thing of the past, if the claims of a new scientific audio program are to be believed.

The Sleep Salon is a new audio program, designed to help eliminate sleeping problems by tapping into the power of the mind. It uses special sounds to help influence brainwave patterns, taking the brain from being wide awake and lulling it gently into a deep, relaxing sleep.

The program comes from the creators of the Brain Evolution System and the Brain Salon, and is supposed to be based on over 100 years of brainwave research.

The science is pretty simple. Your brain emits a mild electrical frequency, which can be measured using an EEG machine. They call these ‘brainwaves’, and different brainwave frequencies mean that you’re in different states of mind. So, as you’re reading this, you’re likely consciously alert and attentive, and so your brainwaves should be operating in the Beta (12-30 Hz) frequency. However when you’re asleep, brainwaves dip down to the Delta (0.1-4 Hz) frequency. And yes, this is all common knowledge in the science world.

The Sleep Salon taps into this, by capitalizing on a physics phenomenon known as “entrainment.” When you strike one tuning fork and hold another next to it, the second starts resonating at the same frequency. It’s the same with the brain: when exposed to a certain frequency, the brain ‘copies’ that frequency. The sessions inside the Sleep Salon all contain special ‘encoded’ frequencies. When the brain ‘hears’ these frequencies, it copies them — taking your brain down from the wide-awake Beta frequency down to deep-sleep Delta.

To put it even simpler: listen to these simple MP3 audio files — and you’ll fall asleep.

The science is all explained simply on the company’s website. It’s no-frills approach to marketing is refreshing. Simple and stylish, without clutter and excess fluff.

But does this all really work? I decided to try it out.

On placing my order, I received my download links pretty much instantly — and got to work exploring the contents.

The program came with a 40+ page user manual, and 12 individual MP3 audio sessions, which made up the entire Sleep Salon collection.

The first thing that strikes you with this program is how genuinely comprehensive it is. Many similar programs have a “one size suits all” approach when it comes to brainwave entrainment. I know, because I’ve tried many of them in the past. You listen to a single audio MP3 and it’s supposed to help you fall asleep. But life isn’t like that, and while such sessions may work for many that use them, the rest require a more personalized prescription.

The Sleep Salon contains sessions that aim to appeal beyond the mass market . Certainly, there are sessions in there for handling occasional sleeplessness. But you’ll also find sessions for getting to sleep when you have chronic insomnia, a slow wave disorder (such as depression), or for deep healing sleep when you have chronic pain. Most programs don’t even consider these more niche markets. There are also programs for overcoming caffeine addiction, handling body-clock issues, and getting over stress-related sleep problems. (The almost ‘plain’ website doesn’t make it clear the program is so comprehensive.)

To get started, just read through the guide, identify what kind of sleep issues you have, then listen to the right session. It seemed simple. So I decide to give it a go.

For ease, I start with the most basic session of them all — the ‘Sleep Induction with Night Sounds’ MP3. It apparently lasts for 50 minutes, although I didn’t make it that far. I remember hitting the ‘play’ button, and then relaxing to the etheric, deep space-like noises (mixed with chirping crickets) as it played out on my bedside iPhone dock. Surprisingly, I dozed off within minutes. I woke up naturally almopt 8 hours later, a true miracle for someone like myself, typically tortured with just four hours sleep a night, maximum.

As insomnia reaches epidemic levels in the United States, the negative effects are now becoming more well-known. Irritability. Reduced mental functioning. Hallucinations. Weakened immune system. Risk of diabetes and heart disease. Growth suppression. Obesity. And the list goes on.

But the positives of high quality sleep are exactly the opposite: you feel mentally more alert, you enjoy a stronger immune system, you are generally happier and less stressed, you enjoy more energy, and you notice a marked improvement in memory and reasoning.

And all of these things were happening for me the next day. The improvement was profound. When the company claimed the Sleep Salon will help you to “change your life, overnight” — I never took the statement so literally. Ever the scientist, however, I continued the experiment.

There are multiple sessions with the Sleep Salon, and not just for helping you get to sleep. You’ll find a huge 8 individual sleep induction sessions. But you’ll also find sessions for relaxation, sleep training, and even (ironically) ‘wake up’ sessions. The theory is that if you can stay more awake during the day, you’ll feel more asleep when you’re ready to sleep.

Over the coming week, I tried pretty much every session in the entire Sleep Salon range. The ‘Hypnotic Sleep Induction’ session was beautiful to listen to, with its 3D-voice sounds effects and beautiful background music. The ‘Wake Up with Classical Music’ became my alarm clock MP3, a great way to kick-start the day with the added benefit of brainwave entrainment. The ‘Stress & Anxiety Reduction’ session was used multiple times over the week that followed, and provided a great way to relax into an afternoon, and put your mind into a gentle, focused state.

But perhaps one of the most powerful sessions of all for me was the ‘All Night Sleep Loop.’ Just burn this session to a CD, or play the MP3 on your iPhone, and put it on repeat as you drift off to sleep. This expertly timed, 90-minute session plays the frequency patterns of high-quality, deep, restorative sleep cycles — and your brain naturally follows. The result is that your mind sticks to its natural frequency cycles while you sleep, allowing you to enjoy a deep and profound rest. And if you’re one for waking up throughout the course of a night for a toilet break (as I unfortunately do these days!), it’ll quickly lull you straight back to sleep the moment you return to bed.

The science that makes the Sleep Salon work is simply astounding. The guide explains it all much simpler than anything I’ve ever read before, introduces each individual session, then provides ‘prescriptions’ depending on what kind of sleep issues you’re having. And for those that aren’t so interested in the how-and-why, there’s a one-page ‘quick start’ guide at the front, so you can begin pretty much straight away.

I’ll be honest with you. Over the years, I’ve tried everything to overcome my sleeping problems. I’ve experimented with dozens of similar “brainwave” programs. I’ve taken melatonin on a near-nightly basis. I found myself at different times addicted to Nytol and Zopiclone.

For me, there’s pretty much no doubt about it. Quite simply, nothing has given the same results as I’ve found with the Sleep Salon.

If you suffer from any kind of sleeping issues — from occasional sleeplessness to chronic insomnia — then I urge you to try out the Sleep Salon for yourself. You can do so risk-free, too: every copy comes with a full, no-questions-asked money-back guarantee.

And, for once, I’m pleased to announce that this is one refund I absolutely won’t be asking for.
Pros: Incredibly powerful, simple to use, and actually works!
Cons: Downloads only (no audio CD version), no telephone support.

Binaural beats are used in a lot of different self help and personal development projects, including a number of meditation downloads. The claims are that they can shift the state of your brainwaves purely from you listening to a CD or MP3 with these beats on them. Below, we’ll examine what binaural beats are, how they work with your brain and whether or not the claims that they will help with your regular meditation have any validity.

What are binaural beats?

Wikipedia calls them “auditory processing artifacts” which leaves most people none the wiser.

They were discovered in 1839 but the technology to use them in products wasn’t really good enough until late last century.

Binaural beats work by playing two slightly different tones, one in each ear. Which means that they will only work properly if you wear headphones.

Because the tones are close together, the brain will actually react as though a much lower tone was being played and will adjust its state accordingly. For instance, if you wanted to get your brain into an Alpha state, which is where REM sleep and dreams typically occur, you would play two tones that were approximately 10 Hz different from each other.

On their own, binaural beats sound as though someone is rapidly switching them on and off. So most commercial tracks will disguise this fairly irritating noise with a soundtrack. This can be something like rain fall or it could be a new age track to get you in a relaxed mood.

So how do they work with our brain?

Essentially, the beats work by inducing the desired state in our brain. It tries to resolve the difference between the beats and, in the process, takes itself down to that particular level.

Our brain has a range of different frequencies that it operates at according to what we are doing at the time. So when we are sleeping, it will be relaxed and generally quiet although there is some variation in frequency between a light sleep which is where we dream and a deep sleep (the Delta state) where our brain is doing the absolute minimum necessary.

By contrast, when you’re being creative your mind is literally buzzing. It’s working at a much higher frequency, either Beta or Gamma depending on exactly how buzzing it is.

The Greek description letters don’t go through in alphabetical order because the different brain states weren’t all discovered at once, so extra letters were added in the newly found gaps.

Do they help with meditation?

Part of the process of meditation is to relax your mind.

Traditionally, this would take years of practice to get to the correct state. Zen monks take most of their lifetime to perfect the process but Westerners like us don’t have the luxury of being able to just concentrate on meditation for the majority of our life, so we need a shortcut.

Various scientists have measured the brain wave frequencies of deep meditators and, since they knew about the ability of binaural beats, decided to experiment.

What they found was that binaural beats could indeed bring about the same meditative state as years of meditation practice. So we’ve got something close to a Western “I want it now” solution.

Some of the original binaural beats meditation systems still took years to get the full benefits but several newer processes have cut that down to six months or less, making them ideal for our often hectic modern life style and still giving us the benefits of meditation.

Check out this binaural beats meditation comparison and find out how you can meditate really deeply in as little as 8 weeks.

With mind control programming methods such as brainwave entrainment technology, the road to improving one’s life and to achieve great success is not as far as some people think.Brainwave entrainment allows you to unlock your mind’s true potential, which is a key aspect for self-improvement in your life.Every human being has the potential to multiply their ability, including learning, concentration, and memory and so on by use of brainwave entrainment methods.

Brainwave technology has been in use for many years, but it has only gained popularity in recent years as people continue discovering its benefits. It is sometimes referred to as ‘brainwave synchronization’; brainwave entrainment covers all the practices aimed at causing the brain’s frequency to fall into the intended state of mind. This is usually done by using special medical software. The human brain exists in different states depending on what an individual is doing, their activity levels and their consciousness of the surrounding.

Each of these states can bring out various gifts from within a person ranging from an increased mental ability, enhancement in their IQ, increased mental focus and alertness levels.Other states bring aboutrelaxation, improved immune system and sleep patterns, stressrelief, improved health, etc., while others accelerate a person’slearning abilities. All these modes of positive mind control programming can be easily brought about by the use of brainwave entrainment methods such as listening to bin aural beats. Bin aural beats are not only readily available, but they are also easy to use. How do bin aural beats work? Bin aural beats introduce sculpted sounds with varying frequencies into the ear. This difference is picked by the cortical located in the cerebral cortex.

After picking up the different frequencies, the cortical fires the neurons to produce a frequency state, which matches that of the frequency variations from the bin aural beats.Simply put, using bin aural beats enables one to bring about a certain state of mind depending on the goal they want to achieve. If one needs to become more creative, to re-programme their minds or to get better mental focus, then brainwave entrainment can help them.Unlike hypnosis, one does not require any form of training to use the method, and neither is there a learning curve. With brainwave, particularly bin-aural beats, one just needs to plug in earphones and play a CD in a quiet room.

In addition, using brainwave entrainment for positive mind control programming has been proven scientifically. The method has been used widely in the scientific and medical fields to harness mind power and to create positive thoughts, which are integral aspects in the healing process. The technology is popular in these fields because it targets specific problems. For instance, if one needs to think better, the Beta wave frequencies are targeted. If one desires to learn more or to absorb more information the Alpha wave frequencies are targeted and so on.This means that whatever the area one wants to improve in their lives, there is a certain frequency that can be invoked to yield the expected results.

Some people like to experiment in listening to binaural beats to become more relaxed or fall into a meditative state of mind. However, what some people may or may not realize is that some studies suggest that listening to binaural beats can actually help treat specific health problems, conditions and disorders as well.

If you’re sick and tired of relying on expensive medication to help treat a health condition that could be damaging to your mind and/or body, or even if you’ve been hoping to experiment with alternative health remedies, here are five conditions that could be treated when listening to binaural beats:

Weight Loss and Addiction

Because the key to balancing your weight is to control how your mind develops craving urges, your brain is a powerful tool in helping you control your weight. Because of this, binaural beats can help with weight loss since it creates two separate frequencies to each ear, and then the brain reacts by creating a third tone which in turn generates a combination of frequencies that can actually create a “shift in consciousness”, thus helping you control your urges to eat.

Insomnia

When binaural beats are combined with relaxing music, listeners can easily fall into a deep state of relaxation because the music effectively helps slow down the “chattering” in your mind and forces your brain to transform from a relaxing Alpha state to a more hypnotic Delta state.

Anxiety and Depression

Binaural beats are effective in treating anxiety as well as any other panic disorder or phobia along with depression, because there are specific sounds in binaural beats that force the listener to feel more relaxed and calm.

Thanks to recent developments in technology, there are numerous CDs, MP3s and sound files you can find online that are specifically directed towards people who are looking to treat depression or anxiety by listening to binaural beats.

The Uses of Binaural Beats

Amplifyd from – idanielliao.hubpages.com

By idanielliao

Binaural beats are perceived sounds; in other words, they are not real, except for your brain. how can they operate if they are unreal, then? It triggers the mind responses at a irresistible level, and may educate your mind to perform something that it may otherwise locate challenging to achieve on its own. To sum it up, binaural beats are such as the brain’s imaginary small good friend who cannot be ‘seen’ or rather, cannot be noticed but even now is in a location to stimulate your thoughts far better than various other things.
The binaural beats are scientifically developed to stimulate a wanted response, at a volume that standard human beings cannot hear. The mind produces the binaural beat in the tones which have been supplied, centered on distinctive appear hertz that is detected by your left and suitable ear, permitting the mind to turn the big difference in hertz right into a beat. This beat can possess a relaxing impact for the mind, or market alertness, depending for the specific difference.

Binaural beats had been very first found in 1839 by an Associate Professor, on the college of Berlin, who accidentally found that two comparable seems which have been slightly distinctive in volume result in a pulsation or beat kind impact inside the mind when offered separately towards the left and suitable ear. However, it absolutely was Dr Gerald Oster who found in 1973 the advantages in the binaural beat for the thoughts and body.

Binaural beats is in a location to enable you to get in a location to key in immediate deep states of meditation, and may also reprogram the subconscious mind. Binaural beat recordings at particular frequencies make use of a blend of audios to alter the listener’s mind activity. By bringing you into this think of meditation, binaural beats can induce optimistic modifications inside your emotional, psychological and bodily make-up. The beats are also in a location to restructure your neural community and increase your “comfort level”, decreasing pressure levels. As this type of you will be capable to get a whole lot more at ease and never sensation stressed up all of the time.

This meditation is typically a hypnologic trance, which is typically a deep meditative state, and typically calls for a lifetime to perfect. The modifications in brainwave patterns are translated to modifications in substance response inside the body. This operates jointly with optimistic affirmation to enhance your private development, heal psychological matters and phobias, and produce behavioral changes. They are also in a location to provide about power boosts comparable to that obtained once the entire body rests.
Other advantages in the binaural engineering consist of entry for your subconscious mind. Binaural engineering permits that you produce deep states of meditation, eradicate stress, increase your intelligence and produce behavioral changes. All this might be finished with small to no effort, other than placing for the earphones and listening.

It can eradicate detrimental views inside your subconscious, removing detrimental feelings even out of your memories, with out affecting them. using the various varied utilizes of binaural technology, it is not challenging to choose out when which will match your needs, be in private enhancement or like a pressure buster. The possibilities are limitless.

Binaural Beats for Manifesting Abundance

By Nancy Stremmel

Beware of those who tell you that gimmicks will help you manifest abundance. It’s not about gimmicks but about whom you are and what your experiences have been. The blocks we have to changing our present financial status are internal and will prevent us from manifesting abundance. The blocks are old programs replaying in our subconscious – which originated while our conscious mind was in charge, or thought it was in charge.

If you hear a voice within you say, ‘You are not a painter,’ then by all means paint… and that voice will be silenced. ~Vincent Van Gogh

Vincent Van Gogh was right about our subconscious learning from our experience. This is one way to change our memories, but it is not easy to go head to head against your subconscious.

There are two easier ways to change your subconscious messages, thus allowing us to manifest abundance. The first we mentioned in the last article – Ho’oponopono. This Hawaiian method clears all old messages if you keep at it, day in and day out. It requires commitment but it certainly works. You simply have to understand that most of what you think is data, data, data and will not move you forward to inspiration or clarity or abundance.

Ho’oponopono teaches that we are 100% responsible for everything in our lives. What we are experiencing right now has been brought about by our beliefs, and the programs replaying. Do Ho’oponopono and Divinity via your super conscious or higher mind will clear away the garbage. The other way is to use binaural beats.

What are Binaural Beats?

The other way is to change subconscious messages by using binaural beats for meditation, or guided meditation. Binaural beats must be used with stereo headphones, and a stereo wave input. Using your MP3 player is not going to do it. You need a wave format.

An example of how binaural beats works is that the left headphone will input a frequency of, say, 12 hz, and the right headphone will input a frequency of 22 hz, and your brain will find the difference. The Corpus Callosum will coordinate a brain frequency of 10 hz, which is middle level Alpha. Alpha (8 hz to 12 hz) is the best frequency for focus and concentration. Alpha is the frequency that Silva Method meditators learn to achieve for their activities. Most successful users of the Law of Attraction use Alpha for their visualization sessions because it is focused, and calm.

Theta (4 hz to 7 hz), or Delta (1 hz to 4 hz) I find, are wonderful frequencies for deep meditation. This is the frequency I use when I want to listen to my higher mind or to inspiration from Creator/Source/Divinity. Now, it is hard to stay awake during Delta because there is less body awareness, but with practice it can be done.

Gamma brain waves are a newer discovery. Beta is 12 hz to 20 hz and this is our normal, energetic, wide awake but somewhat stressed frequency. Gamma is faster, running at 20 hz to 40 hz. It is not more stressed, however, but more compassionate. Gamma is common among the most disciplined and experienced meditators. Gamma is associated with high levels of compassion, high intelligence, high self control and natural happiness. People with higher Gamma frequency also are known to have increased sensory experience and great memories.

Using Binaural Beats to Change Your Subconscious Memories:

Beta is the normal brain frequency for your conscious mind. At Beta, your conscious brain is wide awake and is operating as the guard at the gate of your unconscious. Your unconscious is millions of times more powerful than your conscious mind, so once an idea passes from your conscious to your unconscious, it will be replayed over and over again.

So, let’s say you’re sitting at the breakfast table. You are 10 years old and your father is teaching you something. You know your friends are waiting and you are anxious to leave. Your father senses your impatience, smiles and sends you off to play even while calling you an “impatient, ungrateful child…”. This will be defended against, and will not seep into your unconscious because you are in Beta.

But let’s say you are in school and have been bored by the teacher’s repetition of the spelling lesson and you are looking out the window at the park, imagining yourself playing outside. You are probably in Alpha, or even Theta while daydreaming. The teacher calls on you and you didn’t hear either the question or the context, but you do hear your name and see the teacher’s face. You look up but can’t answer. The other kids laugh and the teacher tells you to “pay attention”. You internalize some criticism and perhaps some shame at this situation. This does make it past the gate into your unconscious because the guard (always in Beta) was not there at the Alpha-Theta level. In the future, you may experience some anxiety, and perhaps shame when you are a participant during a spelling lesson.

Perhaps you want to be a writer. You find that you have a resistance to writing, not realizing that you have some sense of criticism or shame while you are working on your craft. You are not going to remember what happened in school when you were a child, but since your subconscious remembers and repeats everything, you might find that you are afraid to send your work off to a publisher – out of shame and fear of criticism.

You can change that subconscious memory using Ho’oponopono or by using brainwave entrainment or binaural beats to get to alpha or theta. You can then feed a new message into your subconscious. “I am a great speller and a great writer and any publisher who reads my work will enjoy it.”

Positive Messages:

This was an example of a positive message. Sometimes people think that simply repeating positive messages will reverse their negative memories or negative messages. I cannot emphasize enough that repeating a message during a Beta brainwave frequency is not going to get to your subconscious – no matter how sincere you are.

You will only have access to your subconscious when your mind is in an Alpha or Theta or Delta frequency. So, if you think positive messages are valuable, learn to meditate or get a good binaural beat package.

Meditation Made Easy

Amplifyd from – www.binauralbeatsonline.com

For anyone who has tried to meditate on a regular basis you will know that it is not always easy.

First finding the time to put aside for meditation can be difficult and then turning off the mind chatter and making good use of your time can be even harder.

I am a big believer in easy meditation. I understand the benefits of long and intense meditation sessions.

However I really think that a person can get a huge amount of benefit from a simple 10 – 20 minute meditation session at some point during the day.

Set Time Aside

I have never been good at sticking with a regular meditation schedule. After trying for some time I decided that in order for meditation to work for me it would have to be flexible. By flexible I mean that my meditation sessions would have to spontaneously fit within my day.

I no longer try to wake up early and meditate before my day begins. For one thing I often ended up falling back to sleep and then after several days of this I would inevitably give up.

Now I tailor my short meditation sessions to suit my day. Sometimes I will do it in the morning; other times I do it while sitting at a park around lunch time. Other times I take a few moments after dinner to tune out and relax. Basically I do whatever works on any given day.

If you are having a hard time setting a regular time aside for your meditation sessions, don’t beat yourself up, just find another way that works for you.

Use an External Stimulus

When you only have a short period of time to meditate you want to make every second of that time count. It can often take quite a few minutes to turn off the mind chatter and truly tune out and tune within.

I found that listening to a binaural beats recording during my meditation session made a huge difference for me. The binaural brainwave audio almost immediately helped me to relax and begin meditating. The feeling you get from meditation with binaural beats must be felt in order to understand. Basically I feel a little like I am floating and my conscious mind feels a little like it goes to sleep.

There are numerous binaural beat recordings that can be used with meditation but I found that the meditation binaural beats from The Unexplainable Store that are designed specifically for deep meditation have always worked best for me.

The recording is not very long so it is perfect for busy people who want to make the most out of their quick meditation break and reap the benefits that would normally be associated with much longer sessions.

Keep It Simple

Meditation becomes a real bother if you try to complicate it. My advice is to keep it simple, keep your sessions short until you are able to work up to longer meditations and use binaural beats to help get the most out of your time. All it takes is a few minutes a day of deep meditation to feel like a more relaxed, centered and rejuvenated person.

See our Unexplainable Store Review for more information on how binaural beats work and the different recording options for meditation.
